Additives

Used at 2% level to give a tack free surface, commonly used as an additive to Gelcoat for external applications. For example if you are applying to boat hull or flat roof.

Accelerator D is added to polyester resins. It is a solution of amine dissolved in styrene used to achieve rapid cure times at room temperature (18°C - 20°C). Mix between 1% - 2%. 

Cobalt Accelerator E is commonly used to speed up cure times of polyester resins in cold working conditions. It is a 0.4% solution of cobalt soap dissolved in styrene. Mix between 1% and 4%. 

Cobalt Accelerator G commonly used to speed up cure times of Polyester Resins in cold working conditions. Accelerator G is a 1% solution of Cobalt Soap dissolved in Styrene. Mix between 0.5% and 2%.

Colloidal Silica. Untreated fumed silica is a synthetic, amorphous, colloidal silicon dioxide that is generally regarded as unique in industry because of its unusual particle characteristics.

Fibreglass Supplies Colloidal Silica is a versatile premium material commonly used as a thickening and thixotropic agent in Polyester and Epoxy resin systems. Available in various sizes.

Crystic D8151 is a non- accelerated and very flexible polyester resin. It is not usually used on its own but added to other resins to improve flexibility, impact strength etc.

Styrene is a solvent that is widely used in the Fibreglass industry. It is an agent found in polyester resins. Each Resin will contain a specific amount of Styrene in the formulation to give the correct viscosity needed for the end use of the Resin.

Talc Powder is used for bulking out Resin for General class applications. Used to create an inexpensive filler paste by adding the Talc to Resin. Harder to sand than conventional bodyfiller but more waterproof.
